Richard Ravin and Patricia's Hope LLC's SHACKIN UP (Shackleford) makes her long-awaited return after becoming the first 'TDN Rising Star' for her then-freshman sire May 28 at Arlington. The $160,000 OBS March buy took all the money that day, immediately blasted out to the front and never looked back en route to an 8 3/4-length romp (video). Out of a SW dam, Shackin Up most recently drilled a sharp five furlongs from the gate at Hawthorne in :59 1/5 (2/16) Mar. 24 for trainer Larry Rivelli. She faces two other first-out winners: Shoot for the Moon (Malibu Moon), a well-bet victress at Turfway out of a half to MGSW and influential sire Distorted Humor (Forty Niner), and Swimsuit Issue (Scat Daddy), a $300,000 Fasig-Tipton July pickup who made up double-digit lengths to annex her debut at Fair Grounds. Trainer Wesley Ward, who customarily took the first 2-year-old event of the season with Coolmore's Fairyland (Scat Daddy) Friday, appears to hold a strong pair in this baby race as well, led by his homebred filly HAPPY LIKE A FOOL (Distorted Humor). The chestnut is out of fellow Ward trainee Lastofthesummerwine (Sky Mesa), whose previous two foals to race are GSP 'TDN Rising Star' Conquest Panthera (Kitten's Joy) and GSP Ward pupil Maniacal (Kitten's Joy). Paris Cruise (First Samurai), a $130,000 KEESEP buy, is a half to SW More Than a Cruise (More Than Ready) out of MSW River Cruise (Not For Love), a half to GSW Secret River (Secret Odds). TJCIS PPs
